Uh oh, KO

DISTURBING NEWS from The Coca-Cola Co. today. While Diet Cherry Coke will be unaffected -- thank God -- reports the company is getting rid of its vanilla-flavored soft drinks. Coca-Cola's replacing them with some weird upstart beverages:

The Atlanta-based beverage giant said the simultaneous launch of Diet Black Cherry Vanilla Coke and Black Cherry Vanilla Coke is a first for Coca-Cola North America. "Cherry-flavored beverages are experiencing significant growth, as are no-calorie soft drinks," said Katie Bayne, senior vice president, Coca-Cola Trademark, Coca-Cola North America. "Our innovative fusion of real cola, luscious black cherry, and smooth vanilla flavors creates a taste that is complex and delicious."

I hear they taste a bit like Dr. Pepper.

As I notice it, nobody comes 'round here anymore. The Allman Bros. have a song about it, old as they are. It reminds me of Yogi Berra's statement about a place being too popular. That should make folks think.

Not about what sort of folks are coming around, but about their own attitudes and why they don't...

I myself have been listening to Christy Moore. Besides his very good song about high stools, he has another on the end of the same CD, whose words are this, and again I will remind you of the dead Dylan Thomas' advice about words marching in. Which they invariably do. Somebody eventually will say something, and they will invariably use words. And about a thousand of them, give or take, will make a picture, I've heard photogs say...

Even photogs...or looter scibby, as I've heard the King of All Media call him...

i myself offer these words as a friend trying to fend off or make fair a whole lotta dogdoo. Truth be told, just the other day I literally found out what it meant to step in it with BOTH feet. You would need to have a Golden and live in New England and attempt to mow your lawn after "fall" happened to quite understand the debacle...My sneakers still are on the porch...

ps: the song is about artificial divisions as they've been in Ireland, where people die over such...Not like here or anywhere we're involved...They also might work in regards to labor-management relations in our Guild and in our country...

as they say in the Catholic confession, "That is all i remember..."

Christy Moore Lyrics
North And South Of The River

I want to reach out over the Loch
And feel your hand across the water
Walk with you along an unapproved road
Not looking over my shoulder

I wanna see, and I wanna hear
To understand your fears
But we're north and south of the river

I've been doing it wrong all of my life
This holy town has turned me over
A young man running from what he didn't understand
As the wind from the Loch just blew colder and colder

There was a badness that had its way
But love wasn't lost, it just got mislaid
North and south of the river
North and south of the river

Can we stop playing these old tattoo's
Darling I don't have the answer
I wanna meet you where you are
I don't need ya to surrender

There is no feeling so alone
As when the one you're hurting is your own
North and south of the river
North and south of the river

Some high ground is not worth taking
And some connections are not worth making
There's an old church bell no longer ringing
And some old songs are not worth bringing
North and south of the river
North and south of the river

For the record, and I know it's annoying, but technically speaking, Dr Pepper has no period in it. That's my 2 cents for the day....good post.
