Support from an Unexpected Quarter
My best friend in all the world has called me an idiot. Other bloggers have called me insane, even delusional. But my post on the Pittsburgh Steelers has drawn some support from an unexpected quarter.
Sure, Boston-area blogger Oliver Willis takes issue with some of my post, but he does agree forcefully with me on one key point: that the Cowboys do not deserve the mantle of "America's Team."

So you are using Oliver Willis as proof of something? This is worse than I thought. ;-)
You suck, Kepple!
Dean Esmay, Texan
Well, as I see it, if Oliver and I *agree* then we're dealing with a statement of objective fact.
And Dean, my friend, I am sorry but as a Steelers fan I must assert their supremacy.
The media manipulation used to make the Cowboys "America's Team" is now being usurped by BushCo. In otherwords, it ain't true! In either case!
Of course, I'm a Vikings Fan. So I will be bitter and resentful until the day I die. I would have said "until the Vikings finally win a super bowl," but I don't think eternity will last long enough for that to happen.
Officially, I was going to open with "Ben, you ignorant slut." However I thought your comments warranted a harsher verbal slandering, best summed up in a wonderful, succinct, yet powerful word: IDIOT.
I don't think you have dementia, for proper treatment of said condition would never keep people like yourself from crying and whining at the television, muttering incoherent slices of verbal dung like, "Why, God, WHY must he throw it out of bounds!!!! WWWHHHHYYY!!!!!!".
You poor bastards. God felt SO horrible for the atrocity that IS greater Pittsburgh, and the AFC, that even with the constant flood of prayer from Iran, gas stations in Kansas City, and even President Ford after he fell down the stairs AGAIN, he decided that by 1975, enough was enough, NO ONE deserves that much torture. With his own favorite Cowboys doing well, he thought, "better deliver a proper competitor for these obviously superior, mighty warriors."
So the Steelers won, even more than once. Hell, in that time, Marino played for Pitt, the Pirates, despite their ridiculous garb, won the world series. Soon, a great hockey star would descent on the city like a wet fart, who without so many horrible injuries, could have, SHOULD have surpassed the Great One.
I don't have a point here. You of all people should know that by now. I guess, THE STEELERS SUCK will have to suffice.
What is God's next sports pity move? The freakin' Clippers.................
